Quality of life of the rural population in the Danube Delta biosphere reserve - 1994

The research was the subject of a contract signed in 1994 between the institute for quality of life research and the institute for research, studies and design for urban planning and land use "urbanproiect," with the aim of providing a basis for proposals regarding the development and land-use planning of the Danube Delta biosphere reserve-a complex project of national and international importance. The research objectives focused on the current state of the quality of life of the rural population in the Danube Delta biosphere reserve, specifically: The standard of living of residents and their sources of income, economic and social services, perceived quality of life, and the impact of the reserve's legislation. The fieldwork was conducted in five localities proposed by the beneficiary (chilia veche, c.a. Rosetti, crisan, mila 23, and sf. Gheorghe) and was based on a standardized questionnaire administered to 199 respondents, as well as structured interviews with decision-makers from the public administration and the reserve's management.
