The social and human impact of lignite mining in the Oltenia region - 1994

Due to its scale and duration of nearly four decades, lignite mining in the Oltenia region has left its mark on every aspect of the quality of life for those who live here. For this reason, and to provide the clearest possible picture of the changes that have occurred, the research team set out to assess the quality of life of the region's residents. the overarching objective was to evaluate, from a socio-human perspective, the advisability of continuing mining operations in the area.
