Introduction

For any persons or institutions wanting to create high-standard dataset and with a view to preparing the data for archiving, RODA makes available a guide to good practice.

A well-documented data set is more likely to be found during the searching process; that is why we especially focus on documentation and make every effort to gather all available information for each data set.

Our job will be much easier if the data producers bring such information from the very beginning, thus saving both time and effort. Moreover, any wrong interpretations as to insufficient information may be avoided.

A good documentation may facilitate reaching joint standards and maintain the high quality of both primary and secondary research.
